Doctors

Plenty of doctors can be found. There are first-aid stations created specifically for tourists, the Guardia Medica Turistica in addition to the other Italian doctor's surgeries and clinics.

Guardia Medica Turistica

Some tourist centres are equipped with a Guardia Medica Turistica. Here, tourists can find a doctor 24 hours a day, for smaller injuries. Naturally, every hospital also has a casualty department (pronto soccorso).
Travellers to Italy do not need any special vaccinations.

Travel insurance

An unforeseen illness during a holiday can quickly turn into a financial fiasco and can ruin a holiday.

Therefore, it is recommended to take out travel health insurance and repatriation insurance. This will cover the costs of transporting you back home if need be.
