Porto Azzurro's beaches
The beautiful sandy beaches Reale and Barbarossa, named after the dreaded pirates, lie to the north of Porto Azzurro. Thanks to a good infrastructure, the beaches are the perfect place to spend relaxing days at the beach.
Barbarossa
The infamous pirate Barbarossa apparently knew to appreciate the beautiful bay on the east coast of Elba. 150 metres of white sand offer good sunbathing.
Lush vegetation surrounds the small bay throughout the entire year. The beach offers comfort. Boat rentals and further water sport opportunities are possible. Various tourist facilities are located around Barbarossa beach.
Reale
The beach on the east coast stretches over 100 metres along Reale bay, bordered by rocks on either side. The south-facing beach consists of white sand and pebbles.
There is the possibility of renting sun loungers and parasols and trying out various water sport activities.
A small lake Laghetto di Terranera can be reached by a longer walk. Sturdy shoes are a must for walking over the shimmering rocks. Traces of iron ore mining can be seen along the way.
Naregno
As beautiful as it is popular, the sand-pebble beach of Naregno lies on the east coast of Elba. It can be easily reached from Capoliveri as well as Porto Azzurro. The headland Capo Focardo lies at the end of the beach and boasts a 17th century fortress.
The busy beach has a tourist infrastructure, which hardly leaves any wish unfulfilled. Accommodation, gastronomy, rental stations, as well as boat and water sport offers are all available.
