Getting there by train

Most of Tuscany's provincial capitals can be easily reached by train. They are on the main line that leads to Rome. The journey continues on trains of the public Ferrovie dello Stato to the larger towns in Tuscany.

Many holidaymakers find this way to travel much less stressful then driving there by car.

Ecologically, the train is also much friendlier than driving. Anyone wishing to visit Tuscany in the summer months, or other times during the high season, should be sure to reserve a seat.

When buying your ticket, make sure to ask about current specials! The train network in Tuscany is very comprehensive and offers surprisingly cheap fares.

The Car Train

The Car Train offers the possibility of taking your car with you on holiday, without enduring a long car journey.

The expensive, but comfortable option can be used during the summer months. You can travel with your car or motorbike on the train to Livorno.
