Getting there by plane
Tuscany can be reached comfortably and quickly by plane. Pisa's Aeroporto is the largest in Tuscany, but Florence and Elba can be reached directly from Central Europe.
Over the last few years, more and more airlines have been finding Tuscany to be an attractive destination. Today, multiple airlines operate throughout the year. Scheduled flights connect Tuscany with many Central European airports daily.
Flights to Pisa, Florence and Elba
Numerous airlines fly to the international Aeroporto Galileo Galilei in Pisa. Not so many land in the smaller airport Amerigo Vespucci, just outside of Florence. Especially during the summer months, international airlines expand their flight plans to take passengers directly to the Island of Elba.
Rome as an alternative
Anyone who has a little more time, can fly to the airport in the national metropolis. Today, many airlines are putting more emphasis on short-haul flights and offering good deals on flights to Rome. How about a flying visit to the Dome of St. Peter? The journey to Tuscany by train or rental car can be easily arranged.
Cheap flights
Budget airlines offer surprisingly cheap flights. Conditions and prices vary depending on airline, season, weekday, length of stay and departure city. It pays to compare prices and book early.
