Marciana Marina
The harmonic old port Marciana Marina lies in the northwestern part of the island. The romantic fisherman's quarter Cotone, the well-yacht harbour and the long, lively promenade all add to the town's maritime flair.
The old fisherman's quarter Cotone's romantic lanes, pastel colours, houses built closely to the sea, a beautiful piazza and an old watchtower give the area its ambience.
Maritime flair
The colourful fishing boats can still be seen in the small natural bay of Il Cotone.
The cliff ledge on which this district was built makes it possible to pull the boats ashore, directly in front of the house door.
A cylindrical tower stands as a further sign of the past in Marciana Marina.
From the yacht harbour to the old Contone
The Pisans built it in the 12th century to defend against pirates.
Starting at this proud tower at the harbour, a promenade runs through Marciana's Marina today.
The promenade is lined with bars and stores and stretches all the way to the other side of the bay in the Cotone quarter.

Marciana Marina's beaches
Two small beaches stretch along the bay in Marciana Marina. The refreshing waters of the Mediterranean can be reached over pebble stones. more
